As we are a leading manufacturer in Central New York seeking a Senior Accountant. This position would be a hybrid position located between our Pulaski, NY, Syracuse, NY and working from home.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting activities to include general ledger management, month end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis and assist with shared service functions (AP, AR).

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual closing tasks are completed by deadlines to include bank reconciliations, financial and variance analysis and reporting.
• Analyzes balance sheet accounts and makes necessary adjusting journal entries.
• Reconciles inventory detail to the general ledger.
• Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
• Reconciles general ledger to sales tax reporting and researches and remediates variances.
• Works with managers on departmental spending, budget to actual variances, and assists in the preparation of annual departmental budgets.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications and Required Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3 years of related, progressive accounting experience
• Proven success in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting functions
• Strong general ledger and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivots, Lookups, Sum If)
