The Staff Nurse, under general direction and in accordance with hospital standards and policies, will be responsible for coordinating and evaluating the nursing care for an assigned number of acute care patients; perform a variety of professional nursing duties, do related work, as required, and supervise LPN and PCT staff on the patient care team. Supervisory ability, good judgment, innovation, discretion, effective verbal ability, clerical perception, comfortable being assertive, interested and active in own growth, and willing to explore own behavior are all essential. Practices in regard to accepted Standards of Practice and Ethics. Must be flexible enough to adjust to staffing changes dictated by patient care requirements
Requirements
Must be a graduate of accredited professional nursing program. Preference is given for specialized training in all areas except Med-Surg which is an entry level position. Must hold current RN license from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing. Able to provide nursing care requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of the biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing science.
