Summary:

The Senior Supply Chain Planner plans, prepares, issues and controls detailed demand and supply planning and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.

Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Acts as the primary contact for internal customers, ensuring proper communication of product and equipment status.
  • Provides planning support to various tasks/projects including performance monitoring, materials analysis, reporting, and expediting.
  • Interfaces with operating and support groups (Purchasing, Finance, Master Scheduling, QA) to collect data for preparation of reports.
  • Provides management with clear, timely and accurate information with which to make decisions. Alerts management to deviations (or potential deviations) from established plans.
  • Develops and manages supplier kan-ban, package and shipment sizing to allow for efficient handling of material through manufacturing and distribution
  • Utilizes planning applications (ORACLE EBS, MS Office, Agile, and DataSweep).
  • Demonstrates use of ORACLE EBS for finding and interpreting data in Stock/Requirements List, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and other material inventory transactions to aid in the development and publishing of reports.
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply knowledge of concepts and principals of planning to develop solutions to a variety of problems, particularly with materials delivery.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret drawing and Engineering BOM data to create Material Masters in ORACLE EBS.
  • Manages the implementation of Engineering Changes throughout the product lifecycle to minimize obsolete inventory within change effectivity constraints.
  • Keeps management apprised of potential schedule or fiscal problems by tracking, reviewing and evaluating plans, schedules and/or budgets for inaccuracies, inconsistencies or interface/support problems. Analyzes task/project cost and/or schedule variances and informs management.
  • Provides manpower resource planning and allocation.
  • Supports New Product Introductions as a liaison between production, engineering, quality, master scheduling, purchasing, and sales to coordinate new program requirements with MRP planned orders to ensure all materials have been ordered and product introduction schedules are attainable.
  • Setup new parts in ERP system; including lead times, sub-inventories, flow routings, and other planning features.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience or MS degree with 3 year of relevant experience. Candidates with an AA degree will be considered if equivalent relevant experience can be demonstrated (typical equivalency guidelines are: 2 years of progressively responsible related experience count for 1 year of education).
  • General knowledge of manufacturing industry practices, techniques and standards.
  • Utilizes applications of LEAN concepts and principles.
  • Able to perform moderately complex professional tasks.
  • Able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Able to work under general supervision and guidelines.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, and ERP experiences
  • Experience with report writing database tools a definite plus
  • Proven problem solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Must have the ability to work independently
  • Must have excellent mathematical skills
  • APICS CPIM a definite plus.
  • The employee is regularly required to work in an office and manufacturing assembly environment.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit, walk, or stand.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $66,000 - $85,000 depending on experience variable bonus opportunity

    • Four (4) additional paid days off, based on date of hire in the calendar year
  • Paid Holidays:
