We are hiring for a Senior Scientist I, R&D (FSBI). The team member in this role will conduct research and develop activities leading to the commercial launch of recombinant protein products used in cell therapy, gene therapy, bioproduction, biotechnology and research applications.

Responsibilities:

• Develop experimental strategy and plans required for the development of new products or technologies.
• Develop expression and purification strategies for desired proteins
• Develop and lead analytical assessment of protein purity, stability, and function
• Provide technical expertise including protein design
• Lead the protein engineering function for multiple programs working with a cross-functional team
• Manage multiple projects and help train co-workers in molecular biology techniques
• Cloning, expressing and purifying proteins from bacteria and mammalian cells (e.g. CHO and HEK cells)
• Supervise and conduct experimental work related to new product development.
• Support commercial activities through presentations, publications, collaborative studies, interactions with key customers and as a participant in conferences.
• Contribute to development of long-range plans for R&D.
• Learn, maintain and advance expertise in areas relevant to company’s products and strategic goals

Experience/ Education: 

• BS. or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, or related science.
• Broad scientific knowledge of Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Microbiology.
• Experience with conducting and creating new assays as needed.
• Ability to speak, write and read English fluently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
