Summary:

QVS Engineering is a growing team whose mission is to improve the quality of Fujifilm Sonosite products through their life cycle, proactively handling component and module obsolescence while strategically reducing COGS (Cost of Goods Sold). The QVS Engineering technician supports the QVS engineers to resolve complex ultrasound systems’ quality issues, defining and implementing innovative modifications to existing electrical designs to reduce cost while still maintaining high quality, and handling obsolescence of electrical/electronic components. General requirements include the ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, PCBA assembly drawings and having operational understanding of common test equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform reworks on printed circuit board assemblies
  • Simple revisions of electrical schematics
  • Perform cycle and other engineering confidence tests
  • Build test fixtures
  • General maintenance on test equipment such as open frame systems
  • Generate simple technical documentation
  • Perform general procurement tasks
  • Help with general diagnostics and root cause finding

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years working as an Engineering Technician

Skills and Abilities:

  • Be able to read and understand schematic diagrams and assembly/PCBA drawings.
  • Have full operational understanding of common bench test equipment.
  • Some basic mechanical skills are desired but not required
  • Able to follow engineering directions with minimal supervision
  • Have in depth experience in the troubleshooting of complex circuit boards.
  • Have proven ability to perform board level rework by choosing and utilizing correct tools and methods.
  • Have experience in designing and fabricating moderately simple test fixtures.
  • Able to multitask and implement effective time management.
  • Possess good written and verbal skills.
  • Possess a basic working knowledge of statistics.
  • Experience in a regulated environment helpful.
  • Must be persistent, detail-oriented, and willing to dig deeper to extract design information needed to complete QVS projects
  • Must be disciplined in following established procedures/processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations

Salary and Benefits:

  • $29.08/hr. - $38.46/hr. depending on experience

    • Four (4) additional paid days off, based on date of hire in the calendar year
  • Paid Holidays:
    • Seven (7) paid holidays per year
