This position will be based in Hemet, CA. (Non-Exempt).

• Assist in preparation of meals according to menu/recipe as needed.
• Read menus, estimate needs for each meal, and ensure that adequate supplies are available prior to meal preparation.
• Accurately prepare weekly inventory and submit by the deadline.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and delivery equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with the Dept. of Health by labeling all food products that are opened.
• Maintain nutrition records (i.e.: Temperature control logs, etc.)
• Perform food preparation and serving in compliance with program specifications.
• Train volunteers in serving procedures, storage, and cleaning tasks.
• Four to six hours per day, occasional weekends required.
• Punctual and Regular Attendance.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Food Service Background 
• Ability to rotate to multiple sites as needed.
• Current Food Handlers Permit

• Ability to read and write English and to communicate at the level required for successful job performance.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to deal with the public in a professional and respectful manner.
• Ability to work with a diverse client population and Agency workforce in a professional and respectful manner. 
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
• Bilingual is a plus

Additional Requirements:

• Background Fingerprint Clearance exemption-free (Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index)
• CA Driver’s License and Proof of Automobile Insurance.
• Current and Clean DMV Print Out report
• Physical Exam and Lift Test Clearance
• Drug Test Clearance
• Immunized against: Influenza, Pertussis, and Measles, TB test
