Friendship Village Tempe is Hiring a Project Manager Near Tempe, AZ

Friendship Village Tempe is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join out team!

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Job Summary:

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible to supervise move-in/renovation/refurbishment construction projects in living units and various Village buildings, and to ensure that cottages and apartments are ready for residents at project completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must be able to perform repairs to apartment and cottage structures as well as minor repairs and replacements to the appliances, plumbing systems and electrical systems to get them ready for renovations and for new occupancy.
2. Monitors the quality of work by outside contractors and the adherence to construction schedules.
3. Supervise the Move-In Renovation staff to coordinate their work.
4. Monitor the quality of work done by the in-house Move-In Renovation.
5. Is responsible for evaluation and discipline of Move-In Renovation staff.
6. Must be able to read and understand schematic diagrams and blueprints.
7. Must be able to operate basic hand and power tools efficiently and safely.
8. Must be able to reach as well as use step ladders in the course of performing work.
9. Solicit and present contractor bid results to Marketing and Resident Services Administrator as appropriate.
10. Ensure an adequate supply of materials is maintained so that the move-in/renovation schedule is not adversely affected.
11. Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
12. Coordinate resident refurbishment requests from beginning to end of project.
13. Coordinate return to standard projects from start to finish.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must be available to be on call at night, on weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
2. Is responsible for following safe practices in all areas of work.
3. Perform any other duties or assume any other responsibilities as directed by department head or supervisor, or as is necessary to perform this job.

Education & Experience

1. High school or equivalent GED, or trade school graduate.
2. Three years minimum experience.
3. Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to work without supervision and constant direction.
4. Must be knowledgeable in construction practices and guidelines pertaining to residential construction.
5. Must be able to work well under pressure, relate to a variety of personalities and handle a multiplicity of tasks.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

1. Compliance with Friendship Village’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is required for all employees. Please refer to the policy for details. All Friendship Village employees may access the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy via the Human Resources department.
2. Must be able to walk long distances and at times may be required to bend, stoop or crouch, and climb ladders.
3. Must be capable of working in the extreme heat during the summer months.
4. May be exposed to the elements of weather (heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, fumes), unsanitary conditions and a variety of toxic chemicals.
5. Reasonable care is required to prevent injury and accidents for others.
6. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, climb, bend and do extensive walking.
7. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
8. Flow of work and type of duties require flexibility and normal mental and visual demand much of the time. Must be able to walk long distances and at times may be required to bend, stoop or crouch, and climb ladders.
