POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Talent Acquisition leads the staffing efforts at all Friendship Village communities. This position will use a strategic approach to enhance and develop the organization's ability to attract top talent locally and nationally. This approach will contribute to the company’s success and bottom line. The Director, Talent Acquisition plays a vital role in achieving Friendship Villages’ goal of having an employee-oriented, high-performance culture, emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity, and innovation. Working collaboratively with Department Directors and Hiring Managers, the Director, Talent Acquisition will ensure current and future recruitment needs and priorities are met and is accountable for recruitment targets based on key business initiatives and industry standards. He or she will work to build a strong employment brand and will promote Friendship Village’s reputation as the “best place to work.” 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Director, Talent Acquisition 

· Serves as the organization’s strategic expert in talent acquisition, providing the executive leadership team updates on recruitment strategies, statistics, and emerging staffing trends. 

· Develops, implements, and manages sourcing and recruitment strategies, targets, and timelines designed to match cultural and environmental fit, in addition to technical skills and experience to meet staffing needs on a timely basis.

· Works to make FV the employer of choice, both internally and externally, through strategic design and community involvement.

· Analyzes and reports on recruitment and retention metrics and trends. Examines organizations’ hiring trends, to anticipate the organization's response to labor market changes, such as shortages and surpluses. 

· Develops innovative hiring methodologies by identifying unique and non-traditional sources for finding candidates. Ensures a talent pipeline is established and maintained with competent candidates and applicants.

· Supervises the performance of the Talent Acquisition team, and actively engages in coaching activities to enhance team performance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality candidates to Hiring Managers.

· Ensures that all applicant inquiries are managed and that timely follow-through is maintained in accordance with designated time frames.

· Organizes and/or attends recruitment events to grow a network/pipeline of potential hires, i.e., career fairs, assessment centers, or other events.

· Stays updated about relevant operational, competitive, and company information to respond effectively to inquiries and community contacts.

· Manages the selection process for high-level positions, such as executive-level appointments.

· Uses a centralized, data-driven software solution, to manage, track, and store information related to applicant management. Using data from the system to set goals and diagnose areas of strength or needed improvement for the Talent Acquisition team. 

· Builds strong relationships with Leadership, Department Directors, and Hiring Managers. Meets regularly with Department Directors to determine current and future hiring needs. 

· Coordinates with Marketing to develop, implement and monitor effective advertisement campaigns and promotions designed to increase FV awareness among prospective employees. 

· Analyzes, reviews, and reports on the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and promotions to ensure maximum results. 

· Directs, reviews, and submits for approval all recruiting web content, including images, video, and written communication. 

· Coordinates building and monitoring online employee reviews. 

· Performs as the “Recruiter” for specific positions and/or service levels. 

· Establishes and maintains relationships with organizations and institutions, such as universities, colleges, and community agencies. 

· Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations concerning hiring practices, and compliance with the EEOC.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the recruiting staff, including provision for the selection and development of employees, employee counseling and motivation, disciplinary action, organization of goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the department. 

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.

· Demonstrated experience in recruiting and/or sales. 

· Healthcare experience a plus.

· Experience with technology/systems that support the recruiting function, including word, excel, internet job boards, databases, technology-related resume search criteria, and/or Customer Relationship Management systems.

· Knowledge of Human Resource practices and Federal and State laws related to employment with knowledge of recruitment related to Affirmative Action.

· Demonstrated experience in analyzing recruitment and retention metrics and the ability to recognize trends and develop solutions.

· Exceptional leader who leverages their knowledge and network to build the organization's potential.

· Must have flexible schedules to work evenings and weekends as needed to screen potential candidates and manage recruitment events.

· Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with Directors and candidates.

· Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to multi-task and be detailed oriented.
