What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our La Jolla team. You will be a key member of our Operations department and an integral part to the ongoing success of the business overall. Our business has thrived on customer loyalty, with many customers coming back month after month. Your goal is to deliver a world-class customer experience and ensure that our customers consistently receive the best quality products. You will oversee material and garment quality assurance, including inspections, testing, sample approvals, and quality-related vendor communications. 

Being well-versed in apparel manufacturing will enable you to troubleshoot any quality issues and partner with our manufacturers to address them. Effective verbal and written communication and the ability to work collaboratively will also be invaluable in this role as you will work closely with many teams across the business. 

What You’ll Do/ Top Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee all QA and QC procedures and systems 
  • Lead a team of overseas inspectors (in-house and 3rd party) from fabric testing through final inspections 
  • Partner with Product Development and Supply Chain to vet and onboard new suppliers and define quality standards 
  • Partner with Customer Experience to analyze customer feedback and provide recommendations to better meet customer quality expectations 
  • Define and track key quality metrics to monitor and improve supplier performance 
  • Diagnose quality issues and partner with suppliers to resolve them

  • Ability to translate technical language and concepts into layman’s terms/ explanations
  • Work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Must-Haves for this role:

  • Technical knowledge of textile fibers, fabrics, garment construction, and apparel manufacturing
  • Prior experience working in quality assurance and control in the apparel industry, including managing overseas employees and/or 3rd party inspection firms (e.g., BV, Qima, SGS, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with offshore manufacturing
  • Experience with apparel product development process, fabric testing
  • Functional understanding of SGS, ASTM, AATCC standards and practices.
  • Strong communication and excellent attention to detail 
  • Willingness to occasionally travel domestically and internationally 
  • Advanced understanding of Excel

Nice-to-Haves for this role:

  • Any supply chain certifications (big plus!)
  • E-comm experience/ Direct-to-Consumer experience
