Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher (2022-2023)
Freire Charter Middle School is currently seeking an English Language Arts (ELA) teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. Freire Charter Middle School staff members are forward-thinking team players passionate about working with and unleashing the potential of urban youth. Preferred candidate qualifications:

• Appropriate PA Certification
• Positive attitude, sense of humor, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get a job done
• Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
• Evidence of creativity in lesson planning
• Previous successful experience working with urban youth

This past year, Freire Middle School received Great Philly Schools 2020 High Growth Rating for demonstrating impressive academic growth over a three-year period in math and reading. In 2018-19 (the last year for which there are test results due to COVID-19), Freire Middle School ranked #4 out of all public Philadelphia middle schools on the School District of Philadelphia's annual School Progress Report. That year, Freire Middle School received a Progress score of 100% for the third consecutive year.
