IoT Integration Engineer

Our client is a supply chain technology company that provides real-time transportation visibility and business intelligence for global enterprise clients. As a neutral and independent third party, our client simplifies complex global supply chains through a common design language to leverage new and emerging tracking technologies.

As an IoT Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and support of internal and external integrations and API’s that are vital to global business operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create new external machine to machine IoT integrations between devices and cloud based systems.
• Analyzes, designs & builds integrations for applications and APIs including security & error handling.
• Provide strategy input on creating an ecosystem of endpoint data and architecting an internal micro-services system.
• Actively solicits the involvement of other developers and subject matter experts to ensure integrity, efficiency, and supportability of integrations.
• Performs support tasks to include comprehensive analysis of integration issues including implementation of solution, whether fix or enhancement. Follows all production change management procedures related to the application being modified or created.
• Performs appropriate and thorough testing on all code changes. Implements automated unit tests using popular integration testing frameworks.
• Handles multiple assignments concurrently.
• Maintains technical documentation & test cases.
• Demonstrates a pattern of continuous learning by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field or equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered.
• A minimum of 3 years developing enterprise class integrations between on-premises and cloud applications (on-prem to on-prem, on-prem to cloud, and cloud-to-cloud)
• Strong knowledge of API based integration and micro services design patterns & best practices
• Strong knowledge of Rest, SOAP, JSON, Web Services Interoperability, WS-* standards and ability to suggest, evaluate and formulate solutions.
• Python and Postgres a plus
• Automotive Supply Chain and/or Logistics experience a plus
