About the Role

Can you write headlines and social copy that instantly grab attention online? Can you manage tens of social channels, optimizing content for each platform to build true communities? Can you manage multiple client-facing projects simultaneously with a laser-sharp eye for detail and absolute correctness? 

Turning complex stories into clear, compelling hooks isn’t easy. Building the communities to consume those stories is even harder. That’s what this role is all about.

We’re looking for a Senior Social Media Manager to focus specifically on our sponsored and special projects. Our ideal candidate would have strong experience:

• Packaging content for social media
• Managing social accounts for a digital publisher or brand 
• Promoting content effectively, creatively and appropriately online
• Collecting insights on content performance to improve strategies
• Upholding client relationships and preparing external-facing documents
• Operating under strict deadlines

What You’ll Need

Copywriting Skills

• Proven experience writing editorially-driven copy that captures complex, nuanced ideas with a focus on headlines, meta descriptions, small titles, and ~250 word descriptions
• Proven experience writing social media copy for YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram that balances editorial standards and clickiness with a focus on headlines, share text, and ~250 word descriptions

Social Media Skills

• Strong understanding of each social channel and what makes them tick with a focus on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram
• Experience using platform analytics effectively to improve performance
• Experience and confidence using each platform’s content tools (e.g. Facebook Creator Studio) and third party social media tools (e.g. VidIQ, Agorapulse, Echobox)
• Keen eye for design to provide performance feedback to design team 
• Acute mind for regular AB testing of copy and thumbnails

Client Relations Skills

• Proven experience upholding client relationships
• Absolute acuteness for accuracy when preparing client deliverables
• Comfort regularly meeting with and presenting to clients

Soft (But Very Important) Skills

• An obsession with planning and organization — our team is based across multiple continents spanning many time zones, so your commitment to hour-based deadlines is key
• Comfort working remotely
• Ability to recruit, lead, and empower a team of marketers
• A love for reading and watching our content
• Strong communication skills to present findings to broader teams
• An adaptive and flexible spirit
• Courage to experiment, openness to feedback, and a desire for continuous learning and improvement
