We have an immediate opportunity for a full-time Communications Specialist in our Buffalo Office.

Freed Maxick is seeking talent with a dynamic combination of strategic, analytic, and creative skills to complement our existing team. Professional services experience or support of a corporate brand platform preferred.

About The Job

You will work closely with our Marketing/Communications leadership as well as with cross-functional teams to execute projects supporting both internal and external communications efforts, including:

  • Development of effective communications to support employee engagement, recruiting and other internal initiatives to support Human Resources
  • Creation of presentations for small and large audiences, including client meetings and business development opportunities
  • Content development and layout related to proactive sales materials, thought leadership materials, and proposal materials
  • Expression of business information through accurate, effective charts and graphics
  • Uses appropriate internal tools to deliver clear and creative communications, ensuring consistent messaging, branding, imagery, and identity and capturing Freed Maxick’s unique culture and values
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver high quality results
  • Contributing to a high-performing team by collaboratively supporting communications excellence across the organization
  • Willingness to develop an understanding of how the business operates and of key strategic objectives

Requirements

  • Communications professional with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, in Communications, Visual Communication/Graphic Design, English, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field is required
  • Solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage expectations across multiple, complex projects / priorities
  • Proactive, detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills
  • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills, with an understanding of effective visual hierarchy / graphic design principles and persuasive messaging
  • Flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with all levels and departments
  • Demonstrated ability to create effective deliverables within any of the following: Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or cloud-based design tools, coupled with the aptitude to learn new skills and programs as needed
  • Interactive design, motion graphics or video experience is a plus
  • A portfolio demonstrating knowledge of design fundamentals including layout, composition, typography, and hierarchy (attached as PDF or link to website)
