Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit, unified adult cancer care and research center that is clinically integrated with UW Medicine, a world leader in clinical care, research and learning. The HR Operations Specialist works under the supervision of the HR Operations Manager. This position is responsible for staffing the HR reception desk, troubleshooting and supporting employee transactions in Workday HCM. Acts as a point of contact employee support requests and assists with assigning and triaging HR email box.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day end user Tier 1 and II transactions
• Assist with HR front desk/reception coverage
• Support both the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Fred Hutch by responding to employee questions answering questions regarding the policies and procedures of each organization
• Review incoming forms for accuracy, process, and archive into electronic system
• Respond to and appropriately direct ad hoc customer requests for forms, data, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding employee and applicant information
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of two years general office experience or exposure to customer service methodology and practice required
• Basic computer experience including word processing, spreadsheets and database
• Prefer 1 year of previous experience in Human Resources Department
• Exceptional customer service skills required
• Must be detail oriented and demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be able to take initiative with workload and know how to prioritize work
• Must be able to work in a team environment being flexible, positive, approachable, and have strong interpersonal communication skill

In addition to job duties at Fred Hutch, this position also requires access to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, which requires COVID-19 vaccination without exceptions.Accordingly, as a condition of employment for this Fred Hutch position, newly hired employees must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
