Franciscan Ministries is Hiring a Director of Life Enrichment Near Franklin, IN

Overview

Astral of Franklin, a brand new Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Support community located in Franklin, Indiana is looking for a dynamic Director of Life Enrichment to help start up the community! This position plans, coordinates and implements a variety of activity programs to meet the individual needs and interests of our residents and assures that an ongoing program of activities are designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and social needs of our residents. This position also assists with volunteer management and opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate the direction of the activity programs of our community
  • Oversee in the development, administering and coordinating of department policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of current regulations, as well as professional standards, and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the Executive Director.
  • Participate in community planning related to the interests of our community and the services and needs of the resident and families.
  • Maintain open communication with our residents and their families.
  • Complete forms, reports, etc. required.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary. Attend meetings as appropriate, in and out of the facility for further education.
  • Allow the resident to participate in the planning and scheduling of his or her activity plans/groups. 
  • Responsible for evaluating and monitoring staff
  • Attend department Supervisor meetings and other Directors meetings as appropriate, in and out of the community.
  • Drive a passenger bus to and from activities.
  • Arrange transportation for field trips when necessary and appropriate.
  • Purchases supplies/equipment needed for programming of the Activity Department.
  • Maintain and monitor budget
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Healthcare Related Field preferred but not required
  • Prefer Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreation program.
  • One year of supervisory experience. NAAPA certification or certification as an Activity Professional who is licensed by the state
  • Preferred - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
  • Working knowledge of IDPH regulations and MDS 3.0
  • Must have outstanding critical thinking skills and exceptional customer service skills
