Supervisor of Environmental Services
University Place, part of Franciscan Ministries, is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, assisted living, memory support assisted living and skilled nursing/long-term care. Additionally, the onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and state-of-the-art programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community. We are currently looking for a Supervisor of Environmental Services – House-keeping to join our team!
Duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinates/Schedules and directs the day to day activities of all EVS staff
- Assist in the hire of new associates, training and coaching
- Schedule and supervise all Annual Deep Clean activities for Residents
- Able to work any open position to fill in for absence of regular staff to maintain quality of service
- Maintain inventory of chemicals and supplies for Laundry and Housekeeping daily functions
- Maintain a MSDS log for all chemicals used in Laundry and Housekeeping
- Responsible for supervising the housekeeping personnel to keep HK storage area, work closets. HK carts and equipment clean and orderly
- Responsible for supervising the laundry personnel to keep the laundry area clean including lint screens, tables, sinks and machines to ensure that the area is in neat and orderly condition
- Keep the Director of Plant Operations informed of unsafe conditions or mal-functioning equipment
- Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Plant Operations, the EVS Supervisor will have other specific services and duties required or assigned
Required skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Five years of housekeeping experience
- Day time schedule, including availability to work some weekends and holidays as needed
- Must enjoy working with the senior population
Required physical demands of the position:

- Able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, push and pull objects
- Must be able to lift 10 to 25 pounds frequently and 40 to 50 pounds occasionally
