Overview

Job Title: System Administrator

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust 

Location: Chambersburg, PA 

Foxhole Technology is looking to add a Systems Administrator to our team newly contracted to design, develop, test, integrate, train, deploy, and maintain a new Revenue Management System for our Federal client. This position will be remote but must be willing to travel to support on premise development and test environments at our corporate lab in Chambersburg, PA, or headquarters in Herndon, VA.

The Systems Administrator will be maintaining a combination Windows/RHEL-based application environment running .NET Core containerized applications within AWS Kubernetes (AWS EKS) as well as our lab to support multiple environments (development, test, pre-production, production, training, and disaster recovery) for a cloud-based solution. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly while also having the patience to communicate with a variety of technical and non-technical teams and users. Your role will be to ensure that our project technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Job Description

  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain software, hardware, and networks across the RMS operating environments (development, test, pre-production, training, etc.).
  • Provide system administration for AWS Virtual Machines and Containerized applications, to include installation/imaging, patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems to resolution.
  • Manage the RMS infrastructure in the lab.
  • Scale and manage Linux physical and virtual environments within AWS and Foxhole lab resources.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Work as part of a team to implement a SecDevOps infrastructure
  • Implement secure automation solutions for development, testing, and production environments
  • Ensure security and efficiency of the RMS project infrastructure, including assigning and updating security permissions for the system network; adhering to security and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline to ensure timely delivery of developer code and system configurations.
  • Run system-level reports to identify users, user roles, and changes to the infrastructure, code, application and/or operating system.
  • Develop and manage the physical and virtual infrastructure, provide maintenance, management, and incident response support.
  • Work as a team to implement industry best practices with Agile fundamentals.
  • Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring.
  • Continuously evaluate existing systems with industry standards and make recommendations for improvement.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4 years of relevant technical experience building out and ramping up Microsoft Windows Server and/or Linux-based infrastructures in support of software development projects hosted in physical and virtual environments
  • Experience supporting technologies across development, test, pre-production, production, training, and disaster recovery environments
  • Administrative knowledge of continuous integration tools such as Atlassian suite, GitHub, etc.
  • Working knowledge of databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, Bash or other language
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Desired Experience/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree
  • Experience with the AWS suite of software development tools (e.g., CodeBuild, CodeCommit, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, Aurora DB, ECR, EKS)
  • Experience with modern software development processes, including DevOps-CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud deployment (AWS, Azure), and microservice architecture
  • Helpful certifications include but are not limited to: MCSA, MCSE, Server , AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
