Fountain House is Hiring a Training Director Near New York, NY

Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Training Director is responsible for the development and dissemination of training curricula explaining the different parts of The Fountain House Model. In conjunction with other stakeholders from Fountain House they will develop a strategic vision for the Training Team. They will supervise the other roles in the Training Team to ensure high quality training is done and community partnerships are strengthened.

Please Note: This position is fully in-house Monday - Friday 9AM- 5PM with some flexibility for evening hours, if needed. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the staff and members who make up the Training Team at Fountain House.
  • Responsible for creating the strategic plan for the Training Team and then completing it while mindful of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Responsible for the creation of educational content for facilitators from Fountain House to utilize when teaching Fountain House models, including PowerPoint presentations, notes, discussion maps, etc.
  • Organizes and administers training programs with the support of other staff and members at Fountain House for colleagues from other clubhouses, healthcare providers, government entities, and other social work organizations.
  • Disseminates the model of Social Practice as widely as possible within the bounds of the strategic priorities of the organization.
  • Responsible for traveling and presenting Fountain House models when needed.
  • Evaluates training needs for potential outside organizations and individuals and makes recommendations to fill skill gaps.
  • Utilizes effective pedagogy while engaging Fountain House members to create the highest quality teachings possible. Ensures facilitators and presenters adhere to a high fidelity to the pedagogical methods used. 
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritize, organize time and meet deadlines.
  • Experience teaching or developing teaching materials strongly preferred. A working knowledge of pedagogy is necessary.
  • Excellent computer proficiency, including strong skills in PowerPoint, Word, Photoshop, or other programs to aid in the development of training materials required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and to conduct assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND CREDENTIALS

  • Master’s Degree required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience creating curriculum and teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, post graduate level, or an equivalent required.
  • Experience working with historically underserved populations preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and or/hands on experience working in a community setting preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
