Foundation Communities is Hiring a Volunteer Coordinator Near Austin, TX

Position Description: Foundation Communities is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who will work with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to manage, train, and retain volunteers for the Tax Help program. Core responsibilities include coordinating training, day-to-day operations, evaluation processes, and communications.
Ideal candidates will be excited to build relationships with volunteers, pay attention to detail and maintain a high level of organization, and passionately commit to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are looking for a team player who isn’t afraid to ask for help, communicate needs, and is excited about the opportunity to grow in their role and professional development.
This is a full-time position working a 40 hour workweek and requires occasional nights and weekends. Peak season for this position runs November, December, and January.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:Training & Onboarding
  • Implement virtual, self-paced volunteer training December – January
  • Track volunteer training progress for 500 volunteers; use strategic communication plan to provide guidance and support throughout training timeline
  • Manage volunteer application and screening process
  • Create and maintain an effective onboarding process ensuring volunteers are set up for success in their roles
  • Assist the Volunteer Engagement Manager in recruitment activities
Operations
  • Responsible for scheduling, logistics, and communications to ensure volunteer shifts are staffed across 10 service sites every day of operation
  • Implement good practices of volunteer engagement – communication, follow up, relationship management
  • Manage a high volume of email and phone communication with a positive, relational, and accommodating attitude; volunteer team typically consists of 500 or more volunteers
  • Provide day-to-day support for volunteers and encourage their ongoing engagement
  • Create and maintain robust volunteer records, data, and reporting
  • Work to create spaces where staff, clients and volunteers are encouraged to come as they are and are accepted, included and respected; support volunteers through growth and difficult conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion
Evaluation & Retention
  • Develop and expand evaluation processes for volunteers and key staff through surveys, interviews, and data collection; present findings through review and analysis.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify opportunities for growth and change
  • Implement volunteer recognition programs and practices including events, social media posts, and award nominations
  • Cultivate relationships through phone calls, email communication, presence at prosper centers, and events
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines without sacrificing quality; Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and adaptable to new technologies.
  • Ability to build authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the team
  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • General work in the main office, including sitting or standing, twisting at a desk, computer keyboarding and typing, making and taking phone calls
  • Regular on-site events and visits to Foundation Communities properties and event locations.
  • Occasionally: lift 10-20 lbs.
Compensation$24.00/hourThis position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance.
