Foth is currently seeking a team-focused and results-oriented Project Surveyor who has a desire to contribute to our clients’ success by teaming with technical leaders in designing innovative solutions for complex multi-faceted geospatial projects across our diverse markets. As a member of the Geospatial team, you will partner with engineers, scientists, and other geospatial specialists throughout Foth solving our clients' toughest science and engineering challenges. This position will be working out of our Milwaukee, WI location.

Economic development , safety, and aging infrastructure – these are all challenges faced by nearly every community today. As a member of the Foth Infrastructure Geospatial team, you will help clients address these challenges while minimizing impacts to the community and the environment. From airports to utilities, roads, and bridges, you will be a part of providing effective solutions that are cost-conscious and practical.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate traditional land surveying tools (GPS/Total Stations) to complete topographic mapping surveys
  • Utilize digital level to set high accuracy elevations on project control and benchmarks
  • Calculate horizontal and vertical positions from engineering plans for contractors to utilize during construction season
  • Provide field and post processing support for 3D scanning and sUAS(Drone) operations
  • Conduct property research for Land Surveying activities
  • Complete description writing, interpretation and layout for a variety of surveys including easement, property, ALTA, site, topographic, construction staking, etc.
  • Perform right-of-way platting including, but not limited to, research, horizontal and vertical control, preparing base maps, computing existing R/W, parcel lines, permanent and temporary easements, and writing descriptions for purchasing of R/W and easements
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent education and experience
  • 5 years of survey experience in applicable roles ( i.e. survey crew chief, land surveyor, survey technician, etc...)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the following Trimble technology: Business Center-Data Management Software, Robotic Total Stations, Trimble Access, DiNi Level, and GNSS Receivers
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
