Foster Adopt Connect, Inc. is Hiring a Junior Systems Administrator Near Springfield, MO

Description

Job Summary: 

The IT Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the agency’s technical equipment. This position will install, modify and makes minor repairs to desktop and laptop computer hardware and software systems, and provide technical advice and support to system users. They will work with the staff members to maintain system hardware, software and train staff on changes and upgrades as they occur. In this position, being able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace is required.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users’ premises.
  • Loads appropriate software such as operating systems, networking components, office applications, and agency specific programs/applications.
  • Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
  • Provides telephone, in-person and online support to end-users.
  • Coordinates activities with network services and information systems groups.
  • Provides updates, status and completion information to users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication. 
  • Connects users to networks and provides initial and ongoing training as needed.
  • Sets up and manages user e-mail and access as necessary.
  • Installs and oversees updates on anti-virus systems.
  • Creates and manages name badges with key card access to company buildings.
  • Sets up and keeps phone system up to date by assigning extensions and resetting passwords and user voicemail.
  • Maintains a master list of all agency computers, date of initial purchase, and maintenance schedules of each (Asset Management).
  • Provides assessment of whether current computers can be fixed or if new replacements are needed.
  • Solve IT issues for staff and agency functioning. 
  • Ensure that architecture principles and technology standards are consistently applied and updated as appropriate.
  • Researching new IT services/vendors with management as needed for cost containment.
  • Directing third-party vendors who may be involved in diagnosing and correcting system related issues and assisting with solutions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and core values of FosterAdopt Connect, and a willingness to perform other duties as required.
  • Participate as an active team member with all agency departments, attend meetings as assigned and maintain licensing/contract/COA standards are coordinated for maximum effectiveness.
  • Maintain strong, open communication with direct supervisor regarding services delivered, concerns or questions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years in network engineering, design, and troubleshooting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience, including experience with information system maintenance, upgrades and trouble shooting.
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows Operating System; Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019; Windows Desktop 10, 11.
  • Thorough knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, and O365
  • Technical support at the network level: LAN/WAN, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Experience with Windows Powershell scripting.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems. 
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills. 
  • The ability to collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes, using excellent interpersonal skills in multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams. 
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented while meeting all deadlines. 
  • Work as a necessary part of a team effort with colleagues of all demographics. 
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing meetings/professional memberships and trainings as required by Direct Supervisor.
  • Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, able to shift styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations.
