Duration: 12 months contract

Summary:

The main function of a software developer is to develop and design software application. A typical software developer is responsible for directing code development per the defined requirements. Provides expertise and direction in the development and/or modification of computer-based scientific, technical, and business software systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing Microsoft's Technology to create software solutions that meet clients' requirements
  • Write clean, scalable code using VB.NET/C# programming languages
  • Reformulating existing code to ensure adherence to stipulated guidelines
  • Collaborating with coworkers to facilitate the creation of large, complex developments, as required
  • Participate in code reviews and requirements analysis
  • Remain up to date with the terminology, concepts, and best practices for coding Windows Form apps
  • Use and adapt existing windows and web applications for apps
  • Create and test software
  • Develop client displays and user interfaces
  • Assist software personnel in handling project-related work and other requirements

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in software engineering, or similar
  • 2 years of experience in the software industry in Object-Oriented analysis and design, development, testing, and implementation of applications using Microsoft Technologies
  • Experience/knowledge working in Visual Studio IDE
  • Comfortable in using Visual Basic .NET, C#, SQL, WCF, Windows Form, Entity Framework
  • Experience in working with SQL Server Integration Services(SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Familiarity with the IIS, ASP.NET, HTML5/CSS3, Vue.js, React (JS or TypeScript)
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns (e.g., Model-View-Controller (MVC))
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
  • Familiarity with concurrent development source control (TFS)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Enthusiasms for learning new technologies and for sharing within the team your findings
  • Good verbal communication skills to explain complex solutions to customers in a clear and concise manner
  • Any years of experience working in the Department of motor vehicles (DMV) domain is a plus
  • Good troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, organization, and coordination skills
  • Self-driven, flexible, and innovative

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
  • At least 3-6 years experience required.
