Description
Forest Highlands Golf Club, an exclusive golf and country club community located in Flagstaff, Arizona is accepting resumes for a full-time seasonal Golf Shop & Tennis/Pickleball Shop Buyer/Merchandiser.
We are looking for a detail-orientated self-starter who has an excellent professional presence both in person and over the phone. The position is responsible for receiving and displaying golf, tennis and pickleball merchandise such as clothes and accessories in windows, showcases and on the sales floor to attract the attention of prospective customers. Job duties include:
•Develop and implement long-range sales and marketing plans supporting departmental goals, directions, and priorities.
•Develop strategies to maximize business performance and opportunities.
•Manage vendor preferences and maintain positive collaborative relationships with vendors.
•Attend trade shows to keep on top of market trends, accessorize the shop with unique items, and educate you as well.
•Formulate pricing and displaying policies to maximize profits and turns.
•Create, promote, and produce special sales promotions consistent with top country clubs.
•Complete accurate forecasts and monthly/quarterly sales reports.
•Ensure appropriate quality and quantity availability of seasonal merchandise and services.
•Along with the Golf and Tennis staff, participate in, and complete monthly inventory, keeping damage/loss figures below allowable levels.
•Design and develop seasonal merchandise plans to maximize sales at peak times.
•Develop relationships with the members through personalized shopping programs and services.
•Develop and manage special order program.
•Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image.
•Be informed and promote all club activities and services.
Requirements
To be considered for this position you will need to meet our minimum requirements:
•Minimum of 2 years of merchandising experience, preferably in a golf shop or Tennis/Pickleball setting
•Member of Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) preferred
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Point of Sale, and Inventory Management systems,
•Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
•Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
•Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work a combination of weekends and weekdays.
•Professional Image is required.
Preferred Requirements:
•Associate's degree (A.S) plus two years to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Direct experience at a private golf club.
•Valid Driver License with clean Motor Vehicle Record.
•Basic knowledge of golf courses and country club operations.
•Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
•Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
•Organized, able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing.
•Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy times while working flexible hours with an enthusiastic personality.
•Must be reliable
•Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions including low temperatures.
•Be able to lift up to 25lbs regularly.
