ForeFront Power is Hiring a QA/QC Manager Near Lancaster, CA

JOB OVERVIEW

Oversees, monitors, and reports on quality of project execution and implementation. Ensures EPC partners install all aspects of ForeFront Power solar systems in accordance with design and installation standards, contracted scope and contract documents, Prudent Industry Practices, all relevant and applicable codes, standards, and ordinances. Ensures that ForeFront Power best practices are adhered to with respects to future operations and maintenance as long-term asset manager.

JOB LOCATION AND REPORTING TO

This position is considered a remote position. The QA/QC Manager reports to the VP of Development, and works closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers and Development Directors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review solar, storage, and/or solar storage projects during construction to ensure that EPC partners are implementing all aspects of contractual obligations on permitted projects in accordance with ForeFront Power design and installation standards.
  • Review installations to ensure that EPC partners are following Prudent Industry Practices, best practices, all relevant code and standards, and engineered and permitted drawings.
  • Coordinate with EPC partners to establish a “first in place” or “golden row.” Review first in place installations to identify corrections that should be made for the balance of the project installation(s).
  • Create and maintain an ongoing punchlist for each project and support review and sign-off of identified punchlist items.
  • Support Project Managers and EPC Partners in preparation for and during (to the extent feasible) shutdown/tie-ins.
  • To the extent feasible, provide support/coordination during start-up and commissioning.
  • To the extent feasible, be present during delivery of modules and major equipment in order to inspect deliveries. Ensure that the EPC partner appropriately records and inventories all equipment and module serial numbers.
  • Support site inspections with 3rd Party Independent Engineers deployed to the site on behalf of financing party.
  •  Attend RFP or pre-bid site walks on occasion.
  • Ensure EPC partners are torquing all required connections, (in accordance with permitted designs, Prudent Industry Practices, codes and standards).
  • Provide progress reports and photos to ForeFront Power Project Managers.
  • Attend pre-construction/safety orientations as requested by ForeFront Power Project Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • ~10 years of electrical and solar construction preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of work-site safety and OSHA/CalOSHA safety laws.
  • OSHA 30 certified at minimum.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices for solar installations of all types, including ground mounts, canopies, rooftops.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices for AC/DC/MV electrical installations.
  • Knowledgeable about troubleshooting inverters and Data Acquisition System instrumentation and data-loggers.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires significant travel to project sites and may require work during off-hours (nights/weekends) on occasion to support critical project activities. It is anticipated that travel to a specific region will involve multiple days viewing multiple project sites within a portfolio of projects. It is also expected that the QA/QC Manager will be traveling from region to region visiting sites currently under construction and/or in closeout/punchlist phases of project lifecycle. The position may also require air travel to various regions throughout the US depending on current construction activities within the organization. Physical demands are consistent with site presence on an active construction site, though physical labor is not expected, other than climbing ladders, scissor lifts, rooftop walks, etc.
