Look no further…The Manufacturing Engineer provides manufacturing engineering support, focusing on method improvements, setup reduction, throughput analysis, troubleshooting of production problems, process improvement program and project management. Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this position.Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:Evaluate and improve current and proposed processes.Develop action plans to implement process improvement projects.Evaluate and develop action plans to reduce product cycle time.Provide and implement fail-safe solutions to ensure capable processes.Provide support for project management, including taking responsibility for implementing environmental evaluation of projects.Support synchronous flow of product and raw materials.Provide engineering support for the implementation of new processes.Evaluate and implement projects to provide a balanced line to improve equipment utilization.Provide support to teams whose goal is process improvement.Perform time studies or methods analyses as needed.Provide engineering support for implementation of cost reductions.Provide engineering support to reduce WIP/finished goods inventory.Process improvements – provide engineering support as needed.Provide support in determining root causes concerning quality problems.Provide support/input to PFMEA process.Identify and eliminate non-value-added processes in product flow.Provide support to sales for the development of new processes to support customer requests.Provide support to the accounting group for post audit work around manufacturing engineering cost reduction projects.Provide support to manufacturing operations to reduce scrap.Provide support to Costing and Design groups to ensure most economical methods of production.Support manufacturing operations to identify and resolve system constraints.Provide all areas with engineering support to quantify decisions.Work with customers to resolve production/quality problems as needed.Provide support where needed to ensure re-certification of TS16949 registration.Work with secondary operations for engineering needs.Other duties as assigned by the manager. Position RequirementsRequired:Bachelor of Science in appropriate engineering disciplineAt least five (5) years of experience in engineering and/or manufacturing disciplineAbility to communicate with and understand the needs of internal and external customersAbility to organize, plan and execute projects and processes needed to design and validate solutions that meet designated performance specificationsKnowledge of materials, processes, machining and tolerancesAbility to read and understand blueprintsProven level of creative problem solving abilityExperience in preparing detailed cost benefit analyses to support project requestsExperience in project planningDecisive and confident, open and candid with the ability to energize othersPossesses excellent written, verbal and presentation skillsProficient Office Software skillsPreferred:Experience using AutoCAD and Inventor CAD programsExperience using DEFORM and/or other FEA programsKnowledge of fastener manufacturing equipment and processesExperience preparing documentation and training materialsExperience dealing with outside equipment suppliersExperience with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen techniques Travel Requirements:5% of work time will be spent traveling What you'll receive in return: Acument offers exciting and challenging opportunities.
