SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Financial Systems/Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for delivering monthly enterprise data and analytics dashboard reporting to accounting, finance, supply chain, operations, sales, and marketing. This position will also perform data analysis and reporting tasks, both scheduled and unscheduled, to support enterprise data and analytics activities. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is able to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines. This role also requires learning overall business operations to provide relevant reporting/metrics and recommendations to maximize business performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain company-wide key metrics (KPIs)
  • Create/Produce all relevant monthly dashboard reporting in a timely manner
  • Translate data into actionable presentations and reports
  • Project management and report writing with accountability for established deadlines
  • Continuously enhance analytical tools, data queries, reports, and dashboards
  • Leading the identification and implementation of data analytics opportunities
  • Ability to help eliminate manual processes
  • Automate recurring reports and drive process improvement using appropriate technologies
  • Provide support with database queries and analytics capability for enterprise-wide data & reporting
  • Ability to work with large data sets from various systems to analyze results & understand the financial implications
  • Develop database and/or data presentation solutions to deliver information to end-users accurately and efficiently
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses for various business disciplines/purposes as required
  • Create and present detailed presentations as required by the management team
  • Maintain master data as required for key functions (i.e., pricing, product hierarchy, customer hierarchy, etc.)
  • Monitor significant changes in the business landscape (including sales pattern changes, inventory management, cost changes, volume changes, etc.) and implement appropriate changes to recommendations, reports, tools, etc.
  • Document all relevant business intelligence functions, processes, procedures and workflows
  • May construct data models, data dictionaries, and report glossaries
  • May conduct user interviews and training sessions
  • May mentor teammates on BI tools and methods
  • Conducts and may facilitate internal testing and user acceptance testing

This job currently does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Statistics
  • Masters in similar field a plus
  • At least 5-10 Years of Experience in a business intelligence / analytics role preferred
  • Proficient experience in MS SQL and creative thinking skills to develop SQL queries.
  • Prior experience working with complex data sets and data cubes
  • Knowledge in Technology such as Data Warehousing, Access, Power BI, Excel Pivot Tables, VBA Applications, and analytic toolsets
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and SAP ERP Systems
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for Financial and Operational consolidation
  • Financial and Operational reporting experience using Wands for Oracle and SAP, and Hyperion SmartView
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM system
  • Previous experience using BI software packages (e.g. SAP Business Objects, Oracle BI, Microsoft Power BI)
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
  • Strong Financial and Business Acumen
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Must be able to critically evaluate business problems/requirements and translate into analytical exercises and actionable insights
  • Proactive work style used to consistently communicate project status, issues and completion plans.
  • High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
  • Executive level dashboard reporting and Business Intelligence experience a plus
  • Possession of any CPA, MBA, CFA, CMA certification is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of IFRS and other related accounting law or standards
  • Ability to effectively mentor and evaluate team members
