The Position: Position General Summary: The Software Development Manager leads the design, development and support of custom applications and third party product integrations, specifically leading 3rd tier support for custom applications. The Software Development Manager provides leadership and oversight in the area of custom development of software development applications. In addition, the Software Development Manager provides direct consultative support and manages designated IT vendor relationships. Essential Position Functions: Provides leadership role in the development and support of custom applications. Provides oversight and guidance to assigned team for the effective and timely development and deployment of technology solutions. Schedules and balances team activities to meet deadlines for deliverables and meetings. Provides periodic reviews of team member performance using both formal and informal mechanisms. Mentors team members in best practices and skills development. Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced. Analyze and delegate teams resources to correct deficiencies. Leads the development and enforcement of development standards that allows for the maintainability of code in a manner that supports ongoing team development. Provides, at minimum, weekly status report updates for current projects. Recommends the purchase of equipment necessary for the software solutions within the guidelines established by the enterprise. Recommends external consultants as necessary to assist in large Information Technology projects within the guidelines established by the enterprise. Hires, trains and oversees direct reports, including all aspects of performance management, employee recognition, work schedules and location, team building, etc. Assists in the review of contracts for computer and communication technology software and services. Executes the development and/or configuration of software applications to resolve issues and plan for future growth. Delegates to direct reports enforcement of application of best practices some of which include change management, effective error handling and performance instrumentation. Manages, controls, directs, and supervises assigned direct reports, including general leadership, planning, organizing, and reviewing. Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established (These essential functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Minimum Requirements: Education/Licensure/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Experience: Seven (7) years’ developing enterprise-wide software solutions Minimum of three (3) years of direct management/supervisory experience, preferred Five (5) years.NET technologies (NET Core/C#/ASP.NET) experience Five (5) years’ MS-SQL writing stored procedures and database schema design, experience with AzureSQL and EntityFramework preferred Microsoft operating systems experience (Windows 10 & Windows Server) Experience in command line usage (PowerShell, CLI, Linux) preferred Two (2) years’ leading the development and support of custom computer applications preferred Advanced experience with client side technologies such as HTML5.x, Angular, Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS/BootStrap, Knockout JS, JQuery and others RESTFul Web Services experience and or knowledge Experience with Version Control Systems such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server, DevOps, Git, GitHub, or others Experience with deploying web applications in Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and IIS 9 Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Microsoft Visual Studio 2017-2022, Visual Studio Code Experience with automated build tools and scripting such as MS Build or DevOps, or GitHub Actions Experience with database tools and development environments such as Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, or RedGate SQL Toolbelt Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's): Knowledge of current and future technology solutions for the Internet, mobile devices, personal computers and networks Skill in building strong interpersonal relationships Skill in effective verbal and written communication Ability to demonstrate track record of successful, solution-based implementations utilizing .NET technologies including C# and, ASP.NET, Web Services Ability to effectively manage time, resources, and meet deadlines within budget Ability to drive quality into the company culture by contributing to internal initiatives Ability to demonstrate initiative, exercise good judgment, and exhibit business savvy orientation Ability to work with people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans CORE COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS: COMMUNICATION SKILLS Clearly and effectively conveys and/or presents information verbally;
