fluent360 is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Chicago, IL

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the development and administration of HR policies and programs across a full range of HR functions including recruiting, benefits, performance management, employee relations, and training and development. The Human Resources Generalist will demonstrate a solid foundation in HR knowledge and hands-on experience, perform both professional and administrative duties with a high level of competency and engagement, and be a trusted go-to resource for employees at all levels of the organization.

What you will do

  • Administer and execute human resource programs focused on employee recruitment, benefits, engagement, retention, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, DEI initiatives, training, and development
  • Manage the agency Applicant Tracking System and the full-cycle talent acquisition lifecycle process, including creating job requisitions, marketing roles, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, and performing new hire orientation to ensure a positive employee experience
  • Manage Employee Performance and Engagement tool to report on employee feedback and trends and assists the Sr. HR Director in executing the agency annual performance reviews
  • Lead Cultural Committee in the development of DE&I and employee engagement initiatives, including monthly programming
  • Oversee annual Internship Program to ensure interns have a positive experience during their time at the agency
  • Manage employee offboarding process, including preparing exit letters, exit surveys, exit interviews, and collecting employee feedback
  • Support the HR Department by being a direct resource to employees on agency benefits, including medical, dental, ancillary benefits, 401(k), and paid time off
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees in the interpretation of HR policies and procedures and assist in resolution of issues; interpret, coach, and enforce agency policies and procedures for consistency and compliance
  • Support the maintenance, onboarding, compiling reports, and maintaining of employee files through the agency’s HRIS system
  • Process employee verification requests
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, assignments, and troubleshooting with third-party IT vendor, including working with other departments to order equipment as needed
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as requested

Your experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
  • 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist or similar experience
  • Resourceful with an aptitude for creative problem-solving and solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and manage interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new systems as needed
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and JazzHR preferred
