As a Technical Support Specialist at Flow Traders, you will manage the troubleshooting, maintenance and uptime of our office-based IT systems. This includes servers, workstations, ThinClients and virtual machines but also laptops, TVs and printers. A typical day for a Technical Support Specialist starts with a routine check of all office IT infrastructure via our monitoring systems and a scan for any issues reported in our support chats. The day then continues as a blend of resolving issues and working on tasks and projects to continuously improve our environment. IT procurement as well as tracking and inventorying IT equipment is also a part of the job as is moving employees including their equipment within the office.

Whether the contributions are in supporting and improving our IT infrastructure or procuring, tracking and documenting our technology systems, the successful Technical Support Specialist at Flow Traders will be highly self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, and a customer service mindset.

What You Will Do:

  • Be the first point of contact for any IT support related issues
  • Provide superior, first level IT support in a fast-paced trading environment
  • Manage and maintain a stable and performant office IT infrastructure
  • Monitor and manage the IT Support chats. Troubleshoot and fix or escalate to the subject matter experts where necessary
  • Responsible for all IT procurement and inventory management
  • Work closely with other Technology teams to ensure reliability and scalability of our infrastructure

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 2 years hands on working experience in IT support
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or comparable work experience and certifications
  • Experience working in a hybrid Windows and Linux (Debian, CentOS) environment
  • VMware, VDI and networking experience is a plus
  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP and Kerberos is a plus
  • First contacts with scripting skills in Python or Bash and exposure to configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, CFEngine) a plus
  • Attention-to-detail, self-starter, highly organized, methodical and strong communicator (inc. English fluency)
  • Customer service mindset with a strong sense of ownership, good time management and prioritization skills
