This is a position with responsibility in the Financial Accounting area of the company’s operations. This position will be responsible for weekly and monthly processing of accounting tasks for the company with a concentration in car hire accounting as well as other general ledger accounting. The position will involve communication and coordination with other departments in the company.
Prepare month end journal entries for all car hire accounts (includes both a payable and receivable) and other general ledger accounts as assigned.
Monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts, as well as performance of detailed variance analysis as requested.
Obtain a detailed understanding of assigned accounts and development of process improvements.
Analyze detailed contracts related to car hire and assess any accounting implications.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
This position should seek approval from management before making significant decisions, changes, and improvements.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret financial reports. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and interest.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Experience with JD Edwards accounting software.
