Purpose of Position

Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by utilizing knowledge of product design, material and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Entry level uses basic understanding of the field to perform job duties Works directly with more senior Teammates.
  • Work is closely observed and reviewed. - Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space, requirements and equipment layout.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Analyzes teammate utilization, facility layout, operational data and production schedules and cost to determine optimum teammate and equipment efficiencies.
  • Develop specifications for manufacture, and determining materials, equipment material flows capacities and layout of plant and equipment.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Monitor manufacturing activities, measure significant process characteristics and analyze variation in order to detect and reduce waste/scrap.
  • Support the manufacturing process by taking corrective and preventative action on production delays and deviations, and support root cause analysis.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished - product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Lead or participate in cross functional teams designed to maximize productivity.- Analyze and recognize patterns and trends in key performance indicators.- Maintain professional and technical knowledge.- Knowledge of tooling and fixtures.
  • Travel, shift work, and special work hours may be required to accomplish some of the above tasks.
Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

Minimum Experience

0-2 years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

CAD, Microsoft Office a" PowerPoint, Word and Excel (advanced) Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
