Job Description: Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Responsible for developing strategies, roadmaps and architecture for custom solutions and integrations. Responsible for managing technical aspects of projects, ensuring the team is executing to expectations, adheres to coding standards and is developing scalable, long term solutions. Is able to be hands on and help troubleshoot technical issues with the team when needed. Responsible for building high performance, scalable, robust systems leveraging a range of technologies. Collaborates with the product owner, scrum master, development team and others to understand and execute against business objectives. Perform weekly one-on-ones with direct reports Works with direct reports on career development in the context of meeting strategic business objectives. Manages the priorities of the team and ensures the proper balance between project execution and production support. Serve as technical lead and provide direction to the team. Participates in overall strategic planning for Technology Services. Builds and manages a team that is able to execute strategic projects, deliver new functionality to the business and mitigate technical debt/risks. Collaborates with senior leaders to understand business issues and propose solutions aligned to overall technology strategy. Optimizes processes and procedures within the team to balance execution and controls. Helps define roles and responsibility of the team and how they work with/collaborate with other teams. Helps break down silos with other teams both within Technology Services and the overall organization. Performs other duties as assigned by manager. Required Qualifications Over 5 years of leadership/management experience Over 8 years of experience in object-oriented application development Experience collaborating with other team leads to ensure overall project deliverables Ability to balance strategic thinking and focus on execution. Strong attention to detail, making and keeping commitments and meeting deadlines Results-oriented approach with an eye toward “getting the details right” A willingness to develop new technologies and curiosity to learn new ones. A quick and adaptive learner who will develop expertise in various technologies Strong knowledge of .NET, Javascript, and Typescript Experience or understanding of microservices architecture, CQRS, message queues, and event sourcing Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent 8 years of software engineering experience building large-scale, highly available distributed systems 5 years of managing development teams following Agile Scrum methodology Experience developing and executing against strategies Experience building and optimizing teams Experience working with Microsoft .Net, C#, PHP, Angular 5, JavaScript, JSON, SASS, Bootstrap, Docker Containers and Kubernetes orchestration Exposure to Relational (PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases and ORM technologies Knowledge of object-oriented design and proven implementation skills Strong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Experience working with tracking, testing, source control and collaboration tools like Jira Azure DevOps, Postman, Swagger, Git, Wiki, SharePoint and Teams Integration/Architecture patterns background: Microservices, SOA, CQRS, Asynchronous Messaging, Service Bus, APIs, REST, Web Services Experience working with cloud/PaaS services such as AWS, Azure, etc. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods of time Moderate keyboard usage
