Summary The Account Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for our client, in conjunction with the assigned Account Manager, while providing excellent customer service, technical assistance, and general relationship management. The Account Coordinator is responsible for identifying opportunities to make our service essential to our customer and is expected to be proactive in identifying current and future client needs. This position requires the individual to be detailed oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The employee needs to have highly developed customer service skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment with service deliverables at a premium expectation. Responsibilities Build and maintain lasting relationships, which includes intimate knowledge of accounts, including contacts including and beyond our day-to-day, account preferences, and activity flows for both past and future Understand essential elements of the client’s business and how we can best tailor to those ever-changing needs Exhibit and utilize knowledge of hotel industry and markets associated with client industry Responsible for client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue Generate regular and ad hoc reporting on key metrics and per customer request frequently Act as the liaison between the customer and all other departments for problem resolution and service recovery Make recommendations for compliance and travel policy enhancements and update as business needs change Drive account retention and growth of contract business through strong performance and relationships Monitor and manage account in accordance with all key metrics, both from the organization and our customer Conduct regular business reviews and audits on weekly calls Attend all scheduled trainings, meetings, or other events as assigned by supervisor or other levels of leadership Fulfill all duties of the Account Manager in their absence Travel as necessary to meet the client and business needs On-call duties for emergency client needs Responsible for all other duties assigned as needed Qualifications College degree or 3-5 years previous account management related experience Ability to travel as needed Flexibility in work schedule as needed, ability to work additional days/hours as needed Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated strong ability to negotiate, teach others, and report on key metrics Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and deliver superior service with a high degree of accuracy Demonstrate a high focus on managing up on responsibilities Highly skilled in consulting, negotiating, and communicating with customers Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and navigating the internet Demonstrated ability to problem solve at a high level through critical thinking High level of professionalism Demonstrates ability to learn and grow depth of industry knowledge Excellent personal interaction, communication, and phone skills along with a high degree of initiative, personal responsibility, ownership, and commitment to providing the highest level of customer service #LI-AG1
