Fleet Wash Crew Job Description

Priority to thoroughly wash exterior and interior of all types of fleet vehicles using our mobile wash unit. May be called upon to wash and presentation vehicle to customers for transportation or purchase. Perform additional vehicle cleaning when scheduled for extensive wash, detail exterior and interior. Work with common household chemicals. Clear restrooms, toilets, refill supplies. Sweeps, vacuums, mop floors, power wash exterior, cleans windows inside out, and empty any and all trash. Vehicles are inspected to ensure a very high company standard for cleanliness and safety.

Company provides a Mobile Auto Wash Unit for efficient ease of washing all vehicle types. Wash Crew staff member must be able to safely, successfully operate and maneuver this Mobile Auto Wash unit.

Provide hands on help for mechanics – work as a team player to assist with basic tasks such as bringing parts, clean up, carrying parts or tools.

Assist with preparing vehicles for Chauffeurs, warming or cooling during inclement weather, filling basic supplies and necessary customer request items per order. Vehicle preparation and Safety main priorities work in conjunction with Fleet and Chauffeurs to successfully ready vehicles for customer orders.

Perform post-trip motor coach, and/or all vehicle type inspections. Safely operate commercial vehicles short distance from shop to parking lot or from wash bay area to lot.

Windy City Limousine provides training, safety gear and employee uniforms for daily wear. Shop employees must wear company issued uniform each time your work, including safety vests, glasses, gloves when applicable. Shop Clean Up, cleanliness is every employee’s responsibility. Monitor and discard garbage during and prior to ending every shift to prevent hazards. Responsible to keep work area, wash bay, fleet shop and parking area clean and safe.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Special Requirements

• Must possess a valid Illinois state Driver's License and MVR upon hire and annually.
• CDL license recommended and required 3 months after hire (Certification available during employment)
• Knowledge of an automated Fleet Management Information System, Samsara, Outlook.

• Must be 21 years of age to qualify for this position. CDL License recommended.
• Successfully pass pre employment drug test screen upon hire and when randomly screened through employ.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions. The employee maybe exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, or vehicle exhaust fumes or other household chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually somewhat noisy.
• Safety googles, and safety attire must always be worn during working hours.
• Suggested safety attire includes long pants, gloves, steel toes boots.
• Position is Safety Sensitive; actively practice safety.
• Schedules are Flexible but required to follow.
• Must pass Random Drug testing Screen throughout employment

Rate of Pay: Compensation based on experience, knowledge, certification. Entry Level $15.00 per hour and eligible for compensation increase after 90 days. Compensation increase for CDL license holders starting pay $19.00 per hour.
