Pet Emergency Clinic & Referral Center is Hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician - Small Animal Internal Medicine Near Spokane, WA

About Us: Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral CenterĀ is locally owned and around 100 employees. We are a fast paced, full-service hospital, and have an excellent relationship with our in-house specialists (surgeons, radiologists, internal medicine, and criticalist) and the referring veterinarian community. We are a team that values work life balance, a positive working environment, and opportunities to learn.We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine & Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team.

Job Description: We are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician with a passion for small animal internal medicine and critical care to join our close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. In this role, you will have the opportunity to practice advanced procedures, assist in endoscopy, perform anesthesia in critically and chronically ill patients, and work collaboratively with our dedicated team of veterinarians and support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care to patients in the Internal Medicine & ER/ICU departments.
  • Assist our board-certified internist in performing advanced procedures and treatments.
  • Monitor and assess patients in critical condition, providing timely interventions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on patient status and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and advancements in veterinary medicine.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment by collaborating with team members and contributing to a culture of excellence.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent.
  • Current Washington state licensure as a Veterinary Technician.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting, with a focus on internal medicine and critical care preferred.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and advanced nursing care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate care and advocating for the well-being of animals.

Wages: $23-30/ hour
