Position Summary: Responsible for overall legal and corporate compliance for the Company focusing on: privacy compliance (including CCPA and CPRA), other regulatory compliance (including related to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, hotline reporting, onboarding compliance, I-9 compliance, OSHA compliance, harassment training, wage and hour compliance, and safety training), insurance claims processing oversight, and other ad hoc compliance projects. Job Responsibilities include: Privacy: In coordination with the Deputy General Counsel, performs a key risk management role to ensure Company complies with applicable regional, federal and state privacy laws and regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act and like legislation. Key responsibilities include identifying trends in data and new regulatory statutes to identify emerging compliance requirements; advising on application of privacy requirements; development of controls and monitoring; remediation and corrective action of compliance deficiencies and managing customer and employee requests under applicable privacy law. Compliance Training, Auditing and Monitoring: Assist in development of compliance training, auditing, and monitoring initiatives by staying up to date on applicable laws and regulations and updating corporate policies and processes to ensure compliance (including related to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, hotline reporting, onboarding compliance, I-9 compliance, OSHA compliance, harassment training, wage and hour compliance, and safety training). May include direct managing of background checks. Insurance claims management: Manage existing team handling insurance claims processing in coordination with the Deputy General Counsel. Business continuity: In coordination with the Deputy General Counsel, will support business continuity strategies and solutions. Ad hoc compliance projects: Depending on need, willingness, and ability to assist with other legal compliance projects. Qualifications: At least 5 years’ experience in privacy law compliance. Insurance claims management or other compliance program management a plus (but not required). Bachelor’s degree required. Ability to work effectively with senior management and internal partners, simultaneously manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product. Ability to manage others effectively. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Competencies Can communicate clearly and logically in written and oral form. Ability to flex quickly and easily to changing business needs and priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal team at all levels of management, and work on cross functional teams. Positive demeanor with a “whatever it takes” attitude. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with technology Ability to work as a team member.
