Description

Fisher Associates is currently seeking a Senior Site Investigation and Remediation Project Manager to provide leadership and technical expertise to our Environmental Service Line. The successful candidate will be a proven seller-doer capable of contributing to the growth of our environmental practice and will report to our Director of Environmental. 

In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for engaging in business development and providing management, technical and programmatic support for projects in Texas and its geographic reach that aligns with Fisher’s Energy, Land Development and Transportation Sectors.

  • Client relationships and prior experience in the Oil and Gas industry highly preferred.
  • A strong technical and business development background and the ability to interpret and apply site investigation and remediation practices and environmental regulations is essential.
  • Prior experience on fast-paced, multi-disciplinary projects is strongly preferred.
  • As a part of the Fisher Associates team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technically excellent services, developing new clients and business opportunities, preparing technical proposals and reports, managing client relationships, and growing/managing staff.

Focus of Area of Current projects:

  • Site Investigation and Remediation/HTRW projects
  • Utility (Oil & Gas)/other Energy projects with a Site Investigation and Remediation focus
  • Renewable projects with specific expertise in on-shore and off-shore wind and solar projects with a Site Investigation and Remediation focus
  • Multi-media environmental compliance audit experience in various markets/industries a plus

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Concurrently bringing in new opportunities, planning and managing of mid-large-scale projects
  • Lead and support projects in identifying and developing compliance approaches with environmental regulatory requirements, including RCRA, CERCLA, NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Clean Drinking Water Act.
  • Achieve all regulatory, siting, and environmental requirements and approvals needed to achieve project regulatory compliance, guidance and policy adherence, and Client objectives. Prepare milestone schedules, budgets and staffing requirements to complete permitting and compliance on assigned projects.
  • Prepare applications to agencies; represent Client's position in meetings with agencies; select and manage subcontractors; represent Fisher Associates in policy discussions and developments regarding permitting and regulatory requirements. Negotiate regulatory agencies to achieve acceptable permit/compliance conditions consistent with project and Client goals, schedules, costs, and environmental protection.
  • Conduct environmental and permitting due diligence on potential sites for projects.
  • Leading all environmental phase tasks, often working as part of a larger team managing client experiences
  • Develop new clients and business opportunities. Prepare proposals, develop additional work within existing projects and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients.
  • Provide technical guidance to projects and employees within own discipline; provide final technical review of calculations, analyses and project reports. Lead the development of strategies and designs for meeting client objectives and carrying out projects
  • Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Geology, Environmental/Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on Remediation and Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences or other related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Site Investigation & Remediation, project permitting and environmental compliance/review with the primary focus being oil and gas related projects
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist with 10 years of experience in TX is highly encouraged. Experience with PFAS is desired.
  • A minimum of five (5) years working experience in remedial oversight activities at HTRW sites, or comparable environmental remediation/restoration work.
  • Develop and mange the implementation of characterization plans, evaluate characterization data against relevant screening and clean-up criteria; and prepare/review reports documenting the process and results.
  • Experience in preparing, reviewing or overseeing SPCC plans.
  • Strong technical background and experience in leading and delivering projects
  • Expert-level knowledge and understanding of Texas regulations and guidance in surrounding geographic areas;
  • Experience and knowledge of environmental permitting regulations for complex energy/site investigation and remediation projects. Experience cannot be limited to one type of permitting.
  • Managed Site Investigation and Remediation projects that included interfacing with clients and regulators
  • Knowledge of the Energy/Site Investigation and Remediation markets in Texas and surrounding geographic areas
  • Local experience and knowledge of competition and sub-consultant resources
