ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
JOB SUMMARY: This position utilizes drafting skills and software to create, update and modify renderings using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce renderings, drawings and project visions using CADD software or manual drawings for various projects in accordance with client and project specifications.
- Manage the construction administration process by organizing submittals, RFI’s, change orders and maintaining logs for each project.
- Responsible for design, material selection and structural systems.
- Coordinate with sub-consultants, third party clients and contractors and other team members throughout the design process through project completion to ensure deadlines are met and project stays on schedule.
- Manage billable hours for each project.
- Manage in-house library by printing, stamping and support deliveries.
- Stay abreast of CADD software updates, basic building code requirements and specifications, industry trends and similar.
- Attend trade shows, company marketing functions, meetings, continuing education and training as needed.
- Maintain Registered Architect Licensing.
- Champion, support and enhance the Fisher Architecture corporate culture in all activities.
Skills and Abilities
Proven experience in drafting using both manual skills and CADD software. Effective verbal and written communication skills using the English language, including strong presentation skills. Attention to detail, efficiency, and confidentiality in all activities. Ability to work as a team effectively and professionally, as well as manage individual goals. Knowledge of building code requirements. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines, establish priorities with little to no direction and meet deadlines consistently. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to clearly and concisely write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, clients, and outside parties. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office, CADD, Sketch-up, and similar. Education and Experience
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Architecture. 2 – 3 years CADD drafting and related project experience. Registered and/or Licensed Architect or working toward obtaining license.
