About FirstLine Schools
In 1998, FirstLine Schools (FLS) started the first charter school in New Orleans. In 2022-23, FirstLine will operate four (Pre)K-8th grade schools, serving ~3,400 students. Our mission is to create and inspire great, open admissions public schools in New Orleans. Our faculty is a diverse and talented group dedicated to our students’ success and to their own growth as teachers. Our schools are led by leaders who hold themselves accountable for student achievement and teacher development. We have approximately 450 employees.
Position Summary
The Communication Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Communication Director and the communication/development team as needed in the following areas:
The Communication Coordinator works with the Communication Director and others in the organization to assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies with FirstLine’s key constituencies (students/families, alumni, teachers, community supporters, funders, prospective funders, and board members). The Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are in digital media development, marketing, and communication in an effort to promote a positive public image among FirstLine’s various audiences and advance FirstLine’s brand.
This position will also collaborate with others in the organization to achieve brand consistency, coordination of messages, and the highest standards for external communication. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and coordination of organization-wide visual communication and design, including electronic and print communications. They will also support all student recruitment efforts for the FLS network.

The COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR reports to the Communication Director for FirstLine Schools
This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week. FirstLine Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package with a generous 403b plan.
