FirstLight Power is Hiring a Manager, Talent Acquisition Near Remote, MA

PositionReporting directly to the Director, People & Culture, the Manager, Talent Acquisition will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of talent attraction and recruitment strategies to identify and select talent across the organization. You will develop and manage a recruitment strategy for the organization including future planning and long-term business needs. Acting as a subject matter expert you will be responsible to build, implement, and evaluate recruitment strategies by developing strong relationships with hiring managers, providing coaching and training on interview best practices and candidate selection to continue to cultivate top talent. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is a key strategic priority for FirstLight and should be front and center in our recruitment strategy and hiring practices at all levels.
Key Responsibilities Include
  • Builds relationships with business leaders through education and execution of all steps of the recruitment process including: background checks, offer letters, new employee announcements, and onboarding.
  • Effectively achieves recruiting results by approaching the talent market with innovative job advertisements and sourcing strategies utilizing social media and other methods.
  • Promotes DEI hiring at all levels of the organization and actively seeks out partnerships, programs, and sourcing opportunities to facilitate improved DEI hiring.
  • Provides excellent customer service for both internal business partners and external candidates to ensure a great recruiting experience.
  • Participates in mid-year and annual performance evaluation processes to ensure that every employee receives a thoughtful and fair evaluation.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and counseling to employees on human resources-related matters and identify appropriate resolutions (performance management, employee relations issues, and letters of agreement (LOAs)).
  • Keep up to date on labor market trends and competitor information, providing business partners with insights, recommendations and strategies that will improve the quality of external hires.
  • Partner with the HR team to ensure appropriate execution and consistent delivery of other HR programs and initiatives.
  • Participates in the annual budget process by providing input to staffing budgets and human resource department planning.
Qualifications / Skills Sought
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or completion of an Associate Degree with relevant certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources with at least 3 years of recruitment experience.
  • Experience in multiple areas of HR, including but not limited to, recruitment, learning and development, employee relations, HR reporting and metrics, performance management and engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal customers.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
  • Computer literate in MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and databases an asset.
  • Organized, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to be physically mobile (stand, walk, reach, climb, bend) and also the ability to sit for prolonged periods throughout the day/work hours.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, copier, telephone, and the ability to write and/or type.
  • Occasional but Infrequent travel may be required to either of the company’s sites.
