PositionFirstLight is seeking an
IT Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team at our corporate office!
This position will provide technical support for FirstLight’s IT technology platforms within the FirstLight Power organization. This position will troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of shared infrastructure and business systems and to ensure FirstLight’s IT goals are met. Duties include technology support, debug, install, document, troubleshoot, maintain and support of all platform technologies with in FirstLight’s environment. Acting as a first level support for all end user issues, a customer service focus will be essential.
Key Responsibilities Include - Management and configuration, Servers OS, Virtualization, backups and End user computing environments.
- Management and configuration of Servers and Virtualization environments.
- Troubleshoot LAN /WAN issues including third party providers.
- Develop functional and technical documentation, procedures, and operating instructions.
- Ensure all changes to systems are captured by systems change management process.
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of planning, organizing, and project management for IT projects.
- Provide customer service by way of technical support to end users across multiple locations with the US.
- Inventory of technology assets.
- Follow up on existing calls on behalf of clients.
- Document standard processes and installs of infrastructure.
- Provide access to systems as per IT policies.
- Develop and provide training on applications and systems as required.
- Work with client departments to understand business needs for IT related tasks and projects.
- Analyze business/ technical requirements to formulate, develop or purchase and implement new and/or modified systems.
Qualifications / Skills Sought - Bachelor’s degree from an ABET or equivalent accredited institution in Computer Science, Business Systems or MCSE with 5 years’ experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of following systems:
- Active Directory (W2K12 R2, W2K16, W2K19)
- VMWARE 5.5/6.x/7x
- Design implementation and maintaining IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Scripting languages(PowerShell)
- Microsoft Exchange hybrid (2016, O365)
- MimeCast
- Understanding of Backups
- Windows 10 and office 2010 ,2016 and 2019
- Microsoft O365
- Working knowledge of Active Directory.
- Understanding of Network concepts (routers, firewalls, etc.).
- Change, Incident and Configuration Management, a plus.
- ITIL foundations certification, a plus.
- Familiar with SCADA systems a plus.
- Azure experience helpful.
- Must possess strong analytical and decision making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to travel to remote sites on occasion to support business systems.
- Ability to participate in on call rotations.
