Summary:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of assigned complex projects. You will coordinate people and processes to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and produce the desired results. Using your skill as a seasoned project management professional, you will guide project sponsors, project owners, and stakeholders through the process of planning to development work and execution, all the way through to closure and transition to ongoing support.

The Senior Project Manager coordinates, directs and implements projects and transformation activities to achieve outcomes and realize benefits of strategic importance to the bank. This position partners with interdepartmental management teams to analyze and address business needs and/or deficiencies involving the Banks processes, products, services, and/or technology based on alignment with strategic goals and business strategy to maintain high standards of project management and service quality while meeting customers needs in the most cost effective manner.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and manage the framework for the organizations approach to project management
  • Responsible for applying the EPMOs policies and procedures for Project Management
  • Supports and leads project management duties for assigned business initiatives, work streams and operational components
  • Responsible for providing regular status reports and updates using the Banks project management tools and produces qualitative and quantitative data and analysis for reporting metrics (KPIs). Provides feedback to the leadership team on the effectiveness of existing processes, tools, and customer experience.
  • Fosters strong, healthy working relationships with project sponsors and project owners, as well as with partner departments (including Risk Management, Compliance, IT and other internal support departments, and third-party services).
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement and maturity of EPMO project management methods and practices.
  • Facilitates annual brainstorming sessions to gather project ideas and develop a pipeline of opportunities that will be the basis for establishing and prioritizing the annual project management plan
  • Participates in developing the project budget and tracking and reporting of project savings and overages
  • Ensures adherence to published Bank project management methodology, resulting in consistent development and implementation of project components
  • May assist with other banking functions as assigned and according to business necessity

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in business, information technology, management or a related field is required
  • 8 years of direct, related Project Management experience
  • Previous experience in business analysis; change management; strategic planning; operations or vendor management is preferred
  • Experience participating in and leading large, complex cross-functional projects
  • Strong proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio to perform analyses, complete reports, and prepare presentations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to give presentations to all levels of management and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to be influential and establish positive working relationships across the organization
  • Ability to perform and conduct business analysis, strategy, product and project management, and/or process improvement initiatives in a corporate environment. Ability to apply analytical findings to current situation, draw conclusions, and achieve results
  • Demonstrates a high level of knowledge of Project Management and Process Improvement
  • In-depth knowledge of business assessment tools such as analysis/needs assessments, feasibility studies, business case and cost/benefit analyses
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to multitask and ability to work independently
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and ability in project and program management concepts, including various project management approaches (ex: scrum, waterfall, Agile) and organizational change management techniques
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
  • Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and / or other commercial banking products and services.
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification preferred
