Job summary

This is a part time entry level assistant to a laboratory position. The candidate will work along side the laboratory technicians, assisting them by pulling and categorizing samples, preparing samples for laboratory analysis by the laboratory technicians. Review documentation, assist inventory control with the pulling of all expired materials, and all other tasks assigned by the laboratory manager.

Job Duties (Including but not limited too)

• Maintaining an organized process for re-certification of raw materials.
• Communicating with third party laboratories, setting up tests, timelines, and inquiring about costs
• Aiding supervisors in plant sanitation practices and the control of production room releases
• Pull and label powder samples of many different kinds of material, ensuring they are organized and ready for laboratory testing
• Preform environmental testing swabs, swabbing building and fellow workers providing the laboratory with the swabs
• Preform identification scans using NIR software for all raw materials
• Additional duties as assigned
• If the applicant shows promise after training, possible additional training in the use of laboratory testing equipment may be possible.

Abilities required

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to maintain a safe environment when working near chemicals and pathogens
• Must be able to wear proper PPE at all times(i.e. lab coat, latex gloves, mask, hair net)
• Willing to help in other departments when needed

• Part time position. Approximately 20 hours per week. Schedule will depend on laboratory and candidate availability

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus pay
