Job Description:
Operate various types of injection molding machines and assembly operations producing a large assortment of products to support manufacturing. Operators are responsible for the entire manufacturing process, including assembly, performing quality checks and monitoring the process. Must demonstrate a positive work attitude, producing quality products at all times. The Production Operator has the authority to report any process that is producing nonconforming product or any safety violation.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Understand Midgard’s Quality Policy as it relates to your job.
· Before operating any equipment or machine, review the job folder and work order for detailed manufacturing instructions, including packaging and any special quality requirements.
· Operate one or multiple mold press machines, equipment, or operations as assigned. Operations may include, but are not limited to: Removing gates, trimming, drilling, sonic welding, assembly, pad printing, and packaging.
· Follow both verbal and written instructions, and accurately complete all quality and production related documentation required for each specific work order.
· Maintain accurate and complete production counts and the required level of efficiency and product quality.
· Participate in company sponsored training, continuous improvement and team activities.
· Keep workstations and surrounding areas clean and in an orderly manner.
· Follow all safety regulations and the use of equipment as directed by the Supervisor.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required.
· Education and/or Experience:
o A high school diploma or equivalent is desired. The associated must have the ability to comprehend detailed written instructions and procedures. Training is provided to entry-level positions.
· Language Skills:
o Must know how to read and write English. All paperwork requirements must be in English.
· Mathematical Skills:
o Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
· Reasoning Ability:
o Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to work in a team environment.
· Physical Demands:
o While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand and reach with hands and arms. Lifting of up to fifty-five (55) pounds is required. Standing for up to eight (8) hours is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and machinery. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
1st Shift Monday to Friday 6:45am to 3:00pm.
2nd Shift Monday to Friday 2:45pm to 11:00pm.
3rd Shift Monday to Saturday 10:45pm to 7:00am.
