Position Summary

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining the daily operations for their designated branches. They will oversee the operations of these branches to their full capacity as listed below. They will interact with the Customer Experience Manager to ensure each branch has the proper level of operational support needed to service the customers and attain established goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for assisting branches reach their operational score card expectations.
  2. Branch Visits
    1. Visit each branch quarterly to observe branch operations performance and provide feedback to the Customer Experience Manager (CEM).
    2. Prepare a new or update an existing Monthly Branch Visit Action Report (needs, feedback, etc.) based on observations.
  3. Customer Experience Performance Commitments
    1. Partner with the Customer Experience Manager for your area to ensure operation procedures are being followed.
    2. Identify any operational challenges that are impeding the customer experience, and develop a solution to resolve.
  4. Operational and Performance Commitments
    1. Participate on Committees that support operational needs.
    2. Contribute information from your market regarding product offerings and promotions that could influence or impact our customer service objectives and goals.
    3. Monitor teller exceptions and provide guidance on clearing issues timely.
  5. Management meetings and training
    1. Participate in monthly meetings with the Customer Experience Manager to discuss operations performance for your branches and discuss needed coaching or counseling for associates in your region.
    2. Attend and participate in semi-annual Branch Managers Meetings.
  6. Participate in weekly branch performance conference calls
    1. Identify ways operationally we can improve how we support the customer experience efforts.
    2. Determine how best to implement any operational changes identified.
  7. Incentive Plans and Branch Scorecards
    1. Monitor the attainment of operational tasks of all branches score card goals for your region.
    2. Partner with the Customer Experience Manager to review all results to ensure ethical practices are always in place to do what is best for each individual customer.
    3. Actively review customer surveys and take necessary actions to address any operational/revenue credit deficiencies identified.
  8. Additional Management Responsibilities
    1. Participate with the CEMs in the interviewing and selection process of branch interviews when available. Extensions of employment will be a collaborative decision between the ROMs and CEMs.
    2. Provide CEMs with assistance to ensure proper operational staffing within each branch.
    3. Monitor and approve deposit fee waivers for your specific region only
    4. Monitor branch authority levels to ensure adherence to supervisor limits, wires, cash drawers, etc.
    5. Monitor Security Components of branches within your region
        1. Cash shipments
        2. Teller outages
        3. Physical security
        4. ATMs

f. Audits

        1. Conduct three surprise audits per quarter – each branch should have at least one surprise audit annually.

g. Log and Retain the following reports:

        1. Security, key, and vault logs received from Branch Managers
        2. Cash Box Audits – ensure each has been completed and approved by the Branch Manager

9. Work with Branch Operations Administrator to develop new ways of making FGB more productive, profitable, and efficient.

10. Work with the Learning and Development Department to ensure training plan for operational tasks is current and effective.

11. Adhere to BSA/AML policy and all other bank policies.

12. Review all branch operation policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date and appropriately followed.

13. Support the corporate mission of First Guaranty Bank

    1. Volunteer for community events, financial education seminars, and other volunteer activities to support the communities in which we serve.

14. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.

First Guaranty Bank reserves the right to add or delete responsibilities at any time. If responsibilities change, each Regional Operations Manager will be notified in writing or via email by the Branch Operations Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalence of at least 5 years of experience in banking management and branch operations.
  • Strategic planning skills to create action steps to address the areas identified for improvement.
  • Coaching skills with an emphasis on long-term employee development to maximize the potential of each associate on the team to achieve assigned expectations.
  • Change leadership skills, including effective oral and written communication skills, to lead associates through changing work situations and obtain their personal commitments to achieve new goals.
  • Strong organization skills to maintain performance records and documentation on multiple branch locations in your group.
