The Assistant Banking Center Manager is responsible for supporting the Banking Center Manager in leading a team of sales and customer service professionals in the delivery of exceptional customer experiences while maintaining day-to-day operational integrity. Helps to provide leadership for the sales and business development for the Banking Center to meet and/or exceed goals and objectives while balancing operational duties to ensure transactions are handled accurately and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complies with all applicable banking laws, bank policies and federal regulations.
  • Provide leadership and support for the sales and business development of the Banking Center to achieve financial goals and objectives established.
  • Assists the Banking Center Manager in developing strategic approaches to further enhance the banks image and market share.
  • In the absence of the Banking Center Manager, the Assistant Banking Center Manager acts as the leader of the center in all respects.
  • Demonstrates the ability and provides leadership to all Banking Center personnel in acquiring and retaining customer relationships through the delivery of effective, courteous and timely customer service, problem resolution and communications.
  • Works with customers to build and deepen relationships by uncovering financial needs and recommending the best products and services.
  • Ensure quality service scores meet/exceed set goals for product knowledge and customer experience.
  • Demonstrates leadership by creating an environment that promotes and advances the bank’s Mission and Vision and demonstrates its Values.
  • Creates a cohesive team and provides employee development.
  • Acts as a steward of the bank’s resources and reputation, presents a professional image and represents the bank well both internally and externally.
  • Maintains security and operational integrity by assisting in the day-to-day operations and administration of the Banking Center through compliance with policy and procedure resulting in an overall satisfactory audit rating.
  • In the absence of the Banking Center Manager, serves as the banking center liaison to the Bank’s Security Officer to ensure all employees are aware of security policies and procedures.
  • Performs the essential duties of a Customer Service Representative and/or Teller when necessary.
  • Assists in monitoring ongoing customer needs; market trends; meeting individual and banking center goals; monitoring performance of the banking center and employees; coaching; motivating and leading by example; holding regular banking center meetings; ensuring that communication is disseminated as appropriate: day-to-day staffing, scheduling and employee performance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for providing assistance in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the banking center by supervising banking center employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, scheduling and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Able to represent the bank in a manner that maintains and expands customer relationships, contributes to the bank’s growth and enhances its image.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a financial institution as a teller, personal/universal banker and/or bank manager
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
COMPLETED TRAINING CURRICULUM

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate in a constructive manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS)
  • Notary Public License
  • Signature Guarantee Certification
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Operates 10 key by touch with appropriate speed
  • Basic typing/keyboard skills by touch.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and experience/familiarity with various bank-related systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the job duties, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and stand for extended periods. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, consistent with extensive use of a computer/PC. Employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
