Position: Practice Manager
As the Practice Manager at FCNMHP, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our organization's mission of making veterinary care affordable and accessible to all while saving lives and keeping pets out of shelters. This multifaceted position combines analytical, evaluative, advisory, coordinating, supervisory, and technical functions to support our goals and drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinic Operations Oversight: Maintain swift and efficient patient flow within our veterinary clinic and spay/neuter department by overseeing scheduling, appointment booking, and adjusting schedules as needed for optimal clinic efficiency.
Leadership and Supervision: Provide strong leadership and supervision to customer service and phone bank staff, as well as a team of approximately 22 veterinary technicians. Mentor other supervisors, fostering collaborative relationships to ensure cohesive and efficient operations across all departments and clinics.
Staff Management: Develop and support the staff team, focusing on strengthening supervisors and team leaders while adhering to budget constraints. Manage all aspects of staff management, including recruitment, counseling, training, and performance management.
Staff Development: Develop and empower the support staff team, emphasizing the enhancement of supervisors and team leaders, while maintaining adherence to budgetary constraints on hours, in close collaboration with the Training Officer. Manage all aspects of staff management, including recruitment, counseling, training, and, if necessary, dismissals, while ensuring strict budgetary compliance. Collaborate with team leaders to devise optimized schedules for both customer service and veterinary technician staffing within the allocated budgeted hours.
Quality Control and Training: Ensure quality control across all customer service-related positions, guaranteeing accurate information dissemination to staff and clients. Oversee training and upkeep of standard operating procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency in service delivery.
Financial Management: Oversee financial accounts reconciliation and accuracy, manage third-party financing programs, and collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to effectively manage charitable care programs.
Inventory Management: Procure and purchase necessary supplies for the hospital, ensuring careful planning and budget management to meet supply needs within allocated budget. Establish inventory control systems and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
Volunteer Management: Organize and supervise volunteers in collaboration with our dedicated volunteer manager.
· Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinic management or related healthcare management role.
· Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Financial acumen and budget management experience.
· Veterinary clinic experience preferred.
· CVPM preferred.
