Description

This position reports to VP/Director of Accounting Operations.

Basic Function

Responsible for general accounting and finance functions including general ledger entries; financial reporting and analysis; regulatory reporting; and preparation of other reports, schedules and analysis as needed.

Essential Duties

1. Preparation of supporting schedules and input of general ledger entries
2. Financial report preparation and analysis, including monthly Board of Director package, assistance with enhanced accounts payable, fixed asset, prepaid and accrual reporting
3. Prepare and analyze other supporting schedules used for board reporting, regulatory and income tax reporting, and internal and external audit
4. Research and communicate fluctuations, as needed, for financial reporting and analysis
5. Utilize Business Analytics and Prologue general ledger, A/P and F/A reporting capabilities to enhance and streamline current general ledger posting processes as well as financial reporting and analysis
6. Prepare regulatory reports including Bank Call Report and Holding Company regulatory reporting
7. Assist with daily cash position monitoring and with recommending operational movements as needed
8. Assist in the preparation and completion of the annual budget and financial statements
9. Mentor junior members of the team and participate in department wide initiatives, including cross-training, process, and procedure documentation

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Organized and detail oriented
• Strong process improvement and efficiency skills, particularly through the use of technology

Training & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent related experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or progress toward passing the CPA exam strongly desired
• Minimum 4 years experience in an Accounting or Finance department
• Minimum 1 year in the banking industry
• Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
• Experience with Fiserv and Prologue applications preferred
