About our Studio:

Lighthouse Yoga and Wellness is a new yoga studio in SE Portland with a focus on community. The Lents neighborhood is very diverse and we want all of our neighbors to be made welcome in this space. Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for all of our clients regardless of color, gender, size, sexual orientation, physical ability, or economic situation. We believe that Yoga should be accessible to every body.

In addition to our studio, we offer retail that aligns with a Yogic lifestyle as well as alternative spiritual belief systems and wellness products. A mini studio/wellness room is available for private lessons, workshops, and renting to a wellness practitioner.

Job Summary: At Lighthouse Yoga and Wellness LLC, our goal is to create community through Yoga and Wellness. We believe that Yoga and Wellness practices should be accessible. In order to make that a reality Yoga Instructors will be employees and will teach as well as work in the retail/reception area in order to create relationships within the studio and the community at large. While the core position is as a Yoga Instructor, desk duty, screen time, scheduling, and wellness/lifestyle retail will be a part of your role. A commitment to creativity, strong ethics, honoring where Yoga comes from, diversity, and a dedication to building a safe space to explore the benefits of Yoga and Wellness is the backbone of this studio. Qualifications:

Minimum of 200HR yoga certification

(looking for Kundalini, Hatha, predominantly. Would consider other forms or multiple 

certifications)

Up to date Yoga Teacher Liability Insurance (must provide proof of insurance)

First Aid/ CPR certification a plus

Experience with Mindbody software is a plus but not required

Reliable transportation to studio

Lifting equipment and merchandise up to 50 lbs

Job Skills:

Understanding of yoga philosophy, ethics, and asana

Creativity, excellent communication skills, and excitement for Yoga and teaching

Understanding of anatomy and physiology to safely teach asana

Strong verbal skills to teach alignment through demonstration and word (not touch)

Use of Sanskrit as well as English to teach the names of poses

Understanding of Chakra system, Pranayama, and meditation practices

Desire to create community 

Heart centered and ethical mentality

Job duties:

Teaching 45, 60, and 90 minute classes

Beginning and ending classes on time

Use of music encouraged as long as it complies with our licensing and Spirit Voyage agreements and not to be used for social media and YouTube without licensing

Classes are in person and streaming

Opportunity to create and teach workshops

Maintain up to date knowledge and growth in Yoga certifications and continued 

education

Using and maintaining our customer database and tracking system

Greeting and enrolling/signing in students and retail customers

Scheduling for wellness room 

Retail sales, minimal stocking, and general upkeep

Handling cash/ sales

Answering Studio phone

Possible opening or closing of the studio depending on hours

Following COVID safety protocols in the studio, and general studio upkeep

Help in maintaining studio equipment (blocks, mats, etc)

Cleaning and general upkeep of studio/storefront

Other duties as assigned
