**Slot Shift Manager**

Location: FireKeepers Casino Hotel **Description**

**SCOPE OF POSITION:**

The Slot Shift Manager is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the Slot Operations Team Members during their assigned shift with specialized attention to guest service. This includes assisting with strategic planning to achieve overall department goals and objectives by utilizing various reporting metrics, overseeing training and staff in accordance with established guidelines and company policies.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

* Responsible for the effective performance and operation of the shift, by maintaining service standards and managing expenses through adequate staffing levels and accuracy of timecards.

* Responsible for the performance of all Assistant Slot Shift Managers, Slot Supervisors, Keno Supervisor and Slot Attendants on assigned shift and communicates, to the Director of Slots any machine, guest or Team Member problems.

* Assists in developing and implementing an effective strategy for growth and efficiency of operations by reviewing and evaluating reports, logs and P&Ps to make recommendations to management.

* Responsible for the organization of assigned shift and casino floor, including daily Team Member assignments, Team Member break schedules and staffing levels.

* Enforces performance standards, policies and procedures implemented by the organization, department or Gaming Authority.

* Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels in the department through training, evaluating, and disciplining Team Members as needed. Assists in the interviewing and selection process of new Slot Operations team members as needed.

* Responsible for verification and accuracy of Title 31 documents and any other gaming related documents. Records, tracks and disciplines if necessary any exceptions and/or violations.

* Regularly reviews and evaluates slot services, departmental performance, working with management to take appropriate steps to resolve unsatisfactory results or conditions.

* Responsible for verifying and ensuring payouts of large jackpots and fills are properly executed, with authority over all monetary transactions to make decisions on such matters as short pays/no pays and customers shortchange on their shift.

* Contributes to the development and is responsible for working with the Slot Department Trainer on programs within the Slot Operations division.

* Responsible for maintaining a strict level of confidentiality including, but not limited to Team Member records and machine option settings.

* Initiate and promote communication with subordinates, Team Members, Vendors, Management, Gaming Investigators and other departments.

* Responsible for maintaining a dependable work attendance record in accordance with the established company policies. .

* Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (Federal, Tribal, , etc.) and attendant regulations as well as the companys internal controls, policies and procedures.

* Maintains knowledge of all current property promotions.

* Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all Team Members and guests, promotes positive guest service by use of the FireKeepers Guest Service Culture; WEEA (Welcoming, Engaging, Enthusiastic and Appreciative).

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

* Directly supervises all Assistant Slot Shift Managers, Slot Supervisors, Keno Supervisors and indirectly supervises all Slot Attendants on assigned shift.

* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

* Responsibilities include: training of Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and assisting in the interviewing and selection process of new Team Members.

**Minimum Requirements**

**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

An applicants education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. FireKeepers reserves the right to verify the sufficiency of a candidates education, training and competencies through the interview process, testing and methods.

The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and/or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities:

Minimum of eight years in a 2,500 game Slot Department comprising of three successful years in a Slot Supervisor position and two years as an Assistant Slot Shift Manager or above. Working knowledge of all IGT Advantage programs, Optima, Newave, VizExplorer, Key Watcher and Kronos. Working knowledge of internal controls with regards to Slots with the ability to create, modify and recommend change. Strong computer skills. Must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as sound judgment, organizational and planning ability. Must be at least 21 years of age.

**GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

Bachelors Degree in Business Management in addition to minimums listed above.

Successful completion of any of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematical such as probability and statistical inference.

**REASONING ABILITY**

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

**PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where the noise level varies from quiet to loud depending upon business. Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.
